not only will an engine run better with cold air which is denser an therefore carryS more OXYGEN but fog or a light misty rain will add much more horsepower to an engine.i used to work on C-121 super constellations in the navy that had water injection and a 3000 hp engine gained 500 more hp with water injection into the fuel control.
